Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate newsgroup in which to post this, but
I'm hoping that somebody can at least point me in the right direction. I have
the condition known as hypospadias. The urethral opening of my penis is just
underneath the head. I've been circumcised, and I'm about 30 years old.
I also bend to the left (same direction as a scar [see below]) during erection
(chordee). The hypospadias itself can be uncomfortable (very sensitive) to
the touch. I've recently developed irritation in that area, and some scar
tissue (or something) has developed just inside the urethral opening.
I've never asked my parents about my condition, as it's been too
embarrassing/uncomfortable to approach, and I can't remember them ever saying
a thing about it. I discovered the "hypospadias" definition through Internet
searches, and I was quite surprised to learn that others have the same
anomaly. I'm wondering if there may be a Urologist or other patient who
wishes to give me some type of advise. I would love to have further surgery
to correct everything - hypospadias, chordee. Is it possible at this late
age? I really don't want any nerve damage down there. What are the chances
of that?
It appears that I've already had some type or surgery up the bottom of my
penal shaft. The scar runs up the bottom of the shaft, turns left as it gets
close the head, and then it does a 180 degree turn, ending at the vertical
slit where my urethral opening is supposed to be. The actual urethral opening
is a horizontal slit just below the head. It appears that I've had a few
stitches in the top area (visible from the front) between the shaft and the
head. The stitch markings run length-wise, and I'm prone to growing a few
hairs in this rough area. I have no idea what this original surgery may have
been for.
I've developed a mental complex over the issue, and that seems to be getting
worse as I get older. My sex drive has greatly diminished, and I'm staying
away from women while I get this issue straightened out. I have not been to a
Urologist yet. This is my first step, and I would rather draw off of the
wisdom of many than from one individual who may not be familiar or well versed
in this area. Is there a good medical clinic (or best) that specialized in
adult hypospadias correction? I would owe anybody my life who gives me good
advise on how to proceed. Thank you!!!
Mike

I went through the Samme shit bud. not funny at all. I'm good I'm a successful married man but I could have been much more. I'd love to have constructive conversation about how to help people with our condition but most are gay. I have no interest in that.. but it burns my soul that noone really helped me through puberty when this psycosocially ruined my self esteem

This is a congenital condition, and has absolutely nothing to do with your circumcision status or lack thereof. If both of you were born to caring parents and/or any country that affords the best of modern-day medicine, this should have been diagnosed from birth and treated accordingly throughout your life. There's no reason why you should have suffered in silence, as your physician and parents should have known.
